Mom’s plumber friend/handyman always helps us out, but when we try to pay him, he always tells mom “You don’t have to pay me! You’ve known me and my buddies for a long time already.”

We've recently bought a new bidet and had mom's friend install it for us, as well as fix any other leaks we currently had.

He lives near the Squatter's Area near our suburbs. When mom gives him a call, he always answers, and always fulfills our requests.

Apparently mom has known him for a long time already, even when I was still a kid. And whenever he finishes the job and we hand him his payment, he always declines it and tells mom "You don't have to pay me. Don't act like a stranger. You've known me and my buddies for a long time already."

I always thought that that was very kind of him. But how well does he and mom know each other? And he says she knows his buddies too?

Then I remembered all those times he and his buddies came to our house to do a job, such as replacing our roofings and even replacing the water tanks, mom would always send me to the hardware store to buy something, leaving her alone with the Plumber and his friends.

I guess it was the right choice to go to the hardware store during those times, my only regret was that I should have taken my time, so that they could had more time inserting their "pipes" and doing their "plumbing" inside mom for as long as they wanted to.

But at least now, I know what to do. I told mom's friend "Thanks Sir! You should invite your friends next time, I'm sure there are a lot of services you can do for mom in this house."
